Oats in a jar is a quick, nutritious breakfast you can make without a lot of mess and fuss. Make it at night and it’s ready to eat in the morning. Just pour nut milk or milk of your choice in a mason jar, or bowl with a cover and add some rolled oats to it. Make sure you cover the oats with enough milk – about an inch or so over the oats. If you like your oats firm or soft, you’ll figure out how much milk to add – just experiment with it and you’ll find the right consistency. Add fruits like blueberries, chopped apples, nuts, ground flax and or chia seeds. If you want to add bananas, I would suggest you add it in the morning. It will sit on top of the oats and will remain firm and not soggy. If you want a little sweetness to the oats, add a sweetener of your choice – it could be chopped dates, maple syrup, monk fruit sweetener…. A dash of vanilla extract and a sprinkle of cinnamon will add a nice flavor. I’ve added the fruits and nuts at night, but have also added them in the morning if I want crunchy nuts and firm fruits. This is an easy grab and go in the morning if you work, especially if it’s in a mason jar or some other glass jar with a cover. It’s a no mess, no fuss and an instant, nutritious breakfast!
