It’s so important to have a hobby or something you love doing to express your creativity. Some people feel they are not creative, but that isn’t so at all. We all have some degree of creativity within us – we just have to discover it! If you work, then work should not be the only thing you do in your life. Too many retirees who have no hobbies or creative outlet often feel lost after retirement. But it’s never to late to learn something new!
Albert Einstein’s quote about creativity is interesting: “Creativity is intelligence having fun.” That may be true with some projects, but how much intelligence does it take to make a greeting card when all you have to do is go to a crafts store, buy some blank cards and peel-off stickers and make a card! Not only will you have fun making it, but you have just created something which gives you, the creator, and the receiver, great pleasure! Sometimes we just create for ourselves and that’s just as good because the feeling we get after finishing a project, no matter how small or how simple, gives us great satisfaction and pride. Some of us have a variety of hobbies, while others may just have one. Sadly, some have none., but that can change. Creativity enriches our lives and, most importantly, gives us great pleasure! So go out and Create!
